Bibliographic record |
Microfilms are (1) purchased by Methodist Librarian (often sets), (2) arrive via standing order with UMI for all Methodist & Wesley thesis titles, or (3) are the microfilm copy of Drew Ph.D., D.Litt., or D.Min. theses which have Methodist content. For #1 and #2 the Catalog Dept. searches for copy on OCLC or catalogs originally. For #3 the cataloger creates an original record on OCLC |

Item ID |
Hold the flap end up, with the hinge side closer to you. The bar code label is placed on the lower right hand corner of the left hand side. |
Label |
The flap is 1 5/8 x 3 ¾ ". Use label stock that is 1 1/3 x 4." Do not type the full width because ¼" will have to be cut off to fit the flap. The label should look like this: METHODIST Microfilm A1231 Anderson, John. This is a made-up title just to be an example; and if such a title is very long it wraps around like this. |
Drew ID |
Stamp the side opposite the flap end with "DREW UNIVERSITY LIBRARY." |

Finding lists or aids are noted on the bibliographic record in field 300. They are given an LC number and shelved in the Methodist Reference collection. Alternatively, if appropriate, they may be separately cataloged, although the records for the microfilm and the finding aid must reference each other. |
Shelving |
Shelved in cabinets by call number. Shelving is done by Methodist Library student employees. |
